Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Leading hospital Labor & Delivery Unit (16 beds, 120 staff)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: On-Site Travel Nursing Assignment

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Immediate newborn care and clinical support skills
• Current certifications: NRP, BLS/ALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Experience with Cerner EMR and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring preferred
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Monitor patients using advanced fetal monitoring equipment and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR
• Assist with and circulate during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst procedures
• Provide immediate newborn care and support for high-risk labor & delivery cases
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and physicians
• Float to related units as needed (MFMU, MOMB, NICU)
• Uphold the highest standards of patient safety and nursing excellence
