Job Description

We are looking for a Project and Grant Manager to oversee grant identification, proposal development, project planning, financial management, compliance, and stakeholder communication. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid. With employees expected to work in office 2 days per week.  

What You’ll Do

  • Research and identify public and private funding opportunities

  • Align funding strategy with organizational priorities

  • Assist in writing and editing grant proposals and applications

  • Collaborate with IDOH divisions and program areas to develop narratives and budgets

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones for grant-funded initiatives

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams between HHF, IDOH, and external partners

  • Coordinate administrative aspects of grant management to ensure recipients comply with requirements

  • Support the Executive Director in budget monitoring and financial tracking

  • Track expenditures and ensure allowable use of funds for grant projects

  • Ensure adherence to grant requirements, regulations, and contracts

  • Prepare and submit programmatic and financial reports

  • Coordinate communications with partners, stakeholders, and the public

  • Communicate project progress, outcomes, and impact

  • Support organizational leadership with funding strategies

  • Assist in the development and implementation of efficient operational procedures to support foundation goals

  • Stay current on nonprofit operational best practices and compliance requirements

  • Assist in organizing and preparing materials for Board of Director meetings

  • Maintain databases of contacts, partners, and stakeholders

  • Maintain and regularly update the foundation website with current information, events, and resources

  • Create and manage social media accounts to raise awareness about the foundation's work and impact

  • Support the planning and execution of foundation events and public engagement activities

  • Assist with volunteer coordination and training as needed

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, business administration, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in grants and/or project management

  • Experience managing grants and working with project budgets, long-term work plans, and program goals

  • Broad knowledge and experience in fundraising and philanthropy

  • Strong grant writing and budget development skills

  • Knowledge of government and nonprofit operations and relevant laws and best practices

  • Understanding of public health

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience monitoring and tracking operational budgets

  • Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • High-energy, forward-thinking, and creative individual with proven success in working with diverse people

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred:

  • Previous nonprofit experience

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$36 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
