Shift:Days, 06:30 AM - 18:00 PM & 14:00 PM - 23:30 PM
Work Experience:
- Performs Computed Tomography procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries.
- The CT Technologist works effectively with patients and patients' families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.
- Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Diagnostic Imaging department as defined in the scope of practice, to assure that the unique nature of the patient is addressed.
- This includes but is not limited to the age of the patient served.
- Positions patient and/or equipment to efficiently obtain high quality images.
- Select proper scanning procedure for each CT according to radiologist protocols.
- Perform proper views for each exam according to department protocol.
- Under direction of a physician, administer appropriate contrast agents according to department protocol and maintain current knowledge of these agents and their indications/contraindications.
- Ensure appropriate consent forms are signed by the patient or responsible party for contrast procedures.
- Assist physician/students/technologists with CT procedures.
- Coordinate procedures with appropriate departments and personnel as needed.
- Maintain technical skills relating to imaging factors.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy and pathology in order to produce high quality images.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology
License: Current Medical Radiographer license from the State of Nebraska.
Certifications: BLS/CPR Certification.
