Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg position on a secure unit, requiring a current NY RN license and Epic EMR proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work on a secure Med-Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30
- 13-week contract assignment
- Cares for adult Med-Surg patients
- Epic EMR is used and previous experience is required
- No blocked scheduling allowed
- RTO must be requested at time of application
- Travellers residing in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
- Only medical exemptions for the flu vaccine signed by a licensed professional are accepted
- More than 3 call outs during the contract may result in termination and makeup shifts are required within a 6-week period
- Travel pairs are not allowed and candidates may only submit to one position
- Competency testing required for applicants with less than 2 years of Med-Surg experience
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med-Surg nursing experience required
- BLS certification through AHA or RQI required
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Medical professionals only—no Canadian SINs accepted
- Must pass Med-Surg competency testing if less than 2 years experience
