General Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children (depending on the position).

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
• Fellowship training in gastroenterology (may be preferred depending on the position).

License & Certifications:

• Board certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA.
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Arizona.

Experience:

• While specific requirements may vary, most locum gastroenterologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing gastroenterology care in a clinical or hospital setting.
