Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and active IN or compact RN licensure, with tele and PALS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital within the Medical Surgical unit
- Patient ratio typically 1:5
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 18:00 to 06:30
- Minimum of 3 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
- Possibility of being placed on call and required to float to other units as needed
- Patient population includes both adult and pediatric medical surgical cases
- Uses Meditech EMR system
- RNs who call in for a shift will be required to make up the shift at a later date
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Professional appearance required; any scrub color permitted
- Local candidates accepted if residing within a 50-mile radius
- May care for both adult and pediatric patients on the unit
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required; ambulatory or MS experience preferred
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must have prior to start), and NIHSS
- Telemetry experience required
- Returning staff must not have been employed at this facility within the past 12 months
