About the Clinician‘s Workday

Day shift coverage is required, with multiple shift options available including 8-, 10-, 12-, and 24-hour shifts. In-house call is preferred, and while overtime is not expected, it may be available based on volume. Holiday shifts and holiday call coverage are preferred. Typical posted hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. CRNAs practice in a medically directed care team model with MD supervision at a 1:4 MD-to-CRNA ratio, with MDs occasionally performing their own cases and rare MD solo coverage. The case mix includes broad bread-and-butter anesthesia such as general, neuro, ortho, OB, urology, GYN, ophthalmology, and endoscopy. Core responsibilities include pre-anesthesia assessments, consent verification, patient education on anesthetic options and risks, induction, maintenance, emergence, physiologic monitoring, and clinical interventions as needed. Requirements include an active RN license, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and current NBCRNA certification, with candidates needing to obtain a Virginia license considered.
