Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a ND or compact RN license, night shifts, and three years of L&D experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
- Unit accommodates 19 beds and is designated as Trauma Level 2
- Patient ratios include 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and up to 1:5-6 for mixed assignments
- Uses fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, vital signs monitors, OBIX documentation, and Epic EMR for charting
- Schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts with some days, including every other weekend and holiday
- Floating to newborn nursery and NICU as needed
- Care responsibilities include high-risk labor and delivery, postpartum mom and baby, and postoperative gyn surgical patients
- Travelers receive 36 hours of orientation
- Navy blue scrubs required for gyn and mom/baby; hospital-provided scrubs for L&D
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- All previous Sanford Health employees must have an employment separation date at least 6 months prior to consideration
- Candidates with permanent addresses within 80 miles are not accepted as travelers
Requirements
- Active ND or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience in L&D, postpartum, and gyn nursing
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Experience with fetal monitoring, L&D, mother/baby, and gynecologic care
- Prior Epic EMR experience preferred
- STABLE certification preferred but not required
