This full-time position seeks a spine surgeon to join an established orthopedic team in Mattoon and Effingham, IL, with a collaborative and technologically advanced facility. Orthopedics - Spine Opportunity in Mattoon, ILFull-Time Position•Two orthopedic groups: one in Mattoon, IL, and one in Effingham, IL, each with four general orthopedic surgeons.•One spine surgeon joined in 2024 and covers both locations.•Seeking an additional spine surgeon to join the team.•A contracted neurosurgeon performs spine surgery one day a week in Mattoon.•Participation in general orthopedic call with the Mattoon group required.•Ideal start date: no sooner than summer 2026 (to allow the current spine surgeon to build their practice).•Facility offers Rosa and Mako robotics, spine navigation, O-arm, and AIRO CT.Compensation & Benefits•$875,000 base salary + bonus based on RVU production.•$75,000 sign-on bonus.•$60,000 total retention bonus (paid in $20,000 installments at the end of years 1, 2, and 3).•Quality bonus up to $50,000 (eligible upon earning base salary).•33 days of paid time off.•5 days + $6,000 CME allowance annually.•1:6 call schedule.Facility Overview•Not-for-profit regional hospital serving a ten-county region.•Rapidly expanding and adding specialties.•Physician and employee satisfaction consistently ranked in the top decile nationally.•Supportive and collaborative workplace culture.Community Highlights•Safe neighborhoods, minimal traffic, local festivals, and abundant outdoor recreation.•Easy access to major cities: Champaign/Urbana - 40 min, St. Louis - 2 hrs, Indianapolis - 2 hrs, Chicago - 3 hrs.•Charleston is home to Eastern Illinois University.•Expanding dining and retail scene, including a $65 million sports complex opening in 2025.
