An Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient medical care focusing on walk-ins, sports physicals, and minor procedures such as sutures and splinting. They manage patient volumes typically ranging from 15 to 30 per day, covering pediatric and adult populations in a rapid care unit setting with medical assistant and front desk support. This role involves temporary contract coverage, often around holidays, with use of EMR systems like Cerner Community Works.
Contract Length : 8 weeks flexible
Schedule : Looking for providers who can offer 2-3 week stents of coverage around the holidays. 7 day blocks 10a-6p
Clinic details
Practice Setting : Out-Patient Clinic
Patient Volume : Clinics see 15-30 pts/day. 25 on average. Weekends are slower.
Patient Population : Peds and up
Support Staff : 2 medical assistants (1 during slower times, typically weekends). Will be sole provider on Rapid Care Unit (will not be alone on weekends). Front desk support. Admin on call.
Cases/Procedures : Typical bread & butter. Walk-Ins, Sports Physicals, etc. Anything higher level will go to the ER, which is 5-10 min away depending on location. Sutures, Ortho Splints, IMD, Toenail Removal.
