The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the NICU provides specialized respiratory care to newborns and critically ill patients, including assessments, procedures, blood gas analysis, equipment management, and patient/family education. This role requires an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, relevant neonatal care experience, and multiple certifications such as RRT, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS. The position is based at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital, a community hospital offering comprehensive acute care services.

Responsibilities: Performs patient assessments, general and critical care respiratory care procedures, respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintenance and management of equipment and patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas. Qualifications:Education
- Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences required
Work Experience
- Previous Working Experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level required.
Licenses and Certifications
- RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- ACLS Upon Hire Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Upon Hire
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
