CVICU Travel Nurse Job Details- Location: Rochester, NY 14621 – New York healthcare jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: January 13, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
- Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience required)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (occasional 1:1 for Impella patients)
- Unit Size: 16 beds
- Floating: Required within ICU skillset
- Scrub Colors: Navy blue and white
- Active New York State RN license (required for New York nursing jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience
- Travel nurse experience required
- EPIC charting experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Strong clinical skills in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, blood product administration, and advanced cardiac device management (Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, ECMO, CRRT)
- Ability to interpret ABGs, manage dysrhythmias, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Ability to float to other ICU units as needed
- Must be able to work every other weekend and holiday
- Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill cardiac and multi-organ failure patients in the CVICU
- Manage advanced cardiac devices and therapies: ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, IABP, Impella, CRRT
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, ABGs, and hemodynamic parameters
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive medications, IV sedation, and paralytics
- Assist with procedures including chest tube insertion/removal and wound care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and support family communication
- Float to other ICU units within your clinical skillset
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
