American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact license and strong cardiac rhythm skills.
Responsibilities- Position is in a 24-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Unit cares for patients with a variety of diagnosis including cardiac, respiratory, and neuro conditions
- Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts
- Observation unit with rapidly changing patient population
- Uses EPIC for charting, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Massimo monitors in all rooms
- Remote telemetry monitoring with a dedicated Tele tech
- Floating required within the regional network and scope of practice, including multiple nearby facilities
- Must wear navy blue scrubs
- Duties include caring for a variety of patients in a fast-paced environment, including cardiac and neuro cases
- Support team includes CNA (1:12), phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT 24/7, hospitalist and intensivist support
- No HUC, but a charge nurse is available as a resource and may carry a patient assignment
- Must be willing to float according to regional needs, including travel between multiple facilities if required mid-shift
- Initial orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental training
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role

- Active NC or compact RN license required prior to start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone
- General Med/Surg skills including care of tubes/drains, IV insertion, blood product administration, and wound care
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
