▪ Special Care Nursery/Level 2 NICU
▪ Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
● Department Information:
o Census? Average patients/day? 85-100 pts per day on RT worklist census
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Respiratory Therapy exp
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Preferably not
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Newborn to Adult care areas
o Complex medical patients requiring Respiratory Therapy
o Only exclusions are patients requiring PICU, Neurosurgical interventions, Cardiac surgeries
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (Resource Team requirements)
o RRT or CRT
o NC Licensure
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every other
o No call
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
o Shift times: 7a-7p, 7p-7a (must be clocked in & ready to receive report by 0650/1850
o Schedule cycle: 6-week schedule
