A locum tenens Physician specializing in Diagnostic Radiology is needed in Virginia for a high-volume outpatient and inpatient setting. The role requires expertise in general radiology with basic interventional radiology skills, including thoracentesis and paracentesis, and proficiency in multiple imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and PET/CT. Candidates must hold an active Virginia medical license and be comfortable managing a busy imaging workload with a multidisciplinary support team.
Coverage Needed Nov 20 - Nov 27, 2023 Clinical Details Outpatient/inpatient 165 patients per shift 8 beds in department We need an all around General Radiologist with basic IR skills (thoracentesis and paracentesis minimum, PICC line preferred). Requirements Active VA license 3D mammo required - Automated breast ultrasound certification not necessary but would be preferred Comfortable reading whole body MRI - can work around if not comfortable with Breast or Prostate MRI. General Nuclear medicine (VQ, HIDA, bone Scan) and PET/CT required (approx 8-10 on Thursday) High volume readers required - total number of cases ranges from 130 - 175 exams depending on ED volume. Approximately 25-35 CT, 7-10 MRI, 12-15 Mammo, 15 Ultrasound. ACLS Support Staff 1 RN 3 office staff EMR Meditech
