Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Medical Surgical unit night shift position requiring at least one year of recent MS experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
- Ratios are 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Rotating weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6 week schedule
- Floating within scope is required
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
- No on-call responsibilities
- Documentation is completed using Epic EMR
- Scrub color is flexible as long as no hospital logo is displayed
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local travelers within 50 miles are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have left at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved
- No time off will be approved during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may not be submitted in pairs or groups
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
