An Internal Medicine Physician conducting non-treatment medical disability examinations and evaluations primarily for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Responsibilities include performing interviews, physical assessments, and diagnostic evaluations focused on musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions, without prescribing or treatment duties. The role offers flexible scheduling, travel opportunities, quick credentialing, and administrative follow-up work including medical opinions and record reviews.
Location: Boise, Idaho is the capital city of Idaho. The Boise River Greenbelt is a series of tree-dotted trails and parks hugging the water's edge. In an art deco building, downtown s Boise Art Museum has contemporary works and an outdoor sculpture garden. This opportunity is available in other parts of the state as well.

- Need is on a PRN basis, ongoing
- Willing to accept these specialties: family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, etc, or anyone with a background in general medicine, or experience with compensation and pension.
- Two (2) options for coverage - Travel and perform exams at leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice
- Option to work days(4-hours) and/or full days(8-hours)
- One-Time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing, no treatment
- Quick credentialing & onboarding
- DMA certification available (can get CME credits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified
- Use of Goniometer required
- Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Own personal laptop (NO MACs)
- Training shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Evaluations to be completed in provider portal
- Record review is required in most cases
- Follow up administrative work will be required on a regular basis (addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics)
