American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for an Emergency Department assignment with strong pediatric exposure and Epic EMR proficiency required.
Responsibilities- Work in a busy ER with 36 rooms and 50 beds in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes both adults and pediatric cases across a full spectrum of emergency situations
- Average daily census is 70 with approximately 160 patient visits per day
- Duties include management of trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, oncological, psychiatric, substance use, and abuse/assault cases
- Special procedures include conscious sedation, trauma and stroke alerts, cath lab and SANE activation
- Uses specialized equipment such as Point of Care ultrasound, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and tele-neurology systems
- Epic is the documentation system, and proficiency is required
- Shift is 3p-3:30a, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibility
- Floating may be required to ICU or other ED units for 'helping hands' or patient sitting assignments
- Respond to diverse emergency presentations, including traumas, strokes, cardiac events, and behavioral health crises
- Collaborate within a team nursing model and support ICU or ED units as needed
- Patient assignments align closely with RN skills and experience
- One week (36 hours) of orientation provided, combining classroom and clinical training
- All scrub colors accepted
- Travelers who live within 50 miles will be accepted at a local rate
- First time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years recent ER nursing experience required
- Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI required from AHA or Red Cross
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with pediatric patients and emergency triage skills highly preferred
- Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias required
- Must be able to provide at least two professional references
- Candidates must not have been employed previously by facilities associated with SolutionHealth
