Job Opportunity: Locum Emergency Medicine Physician in Lansing, MI
Join a dedicated team at a reputable facility in Greater Lansing, Michigan, seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician to help provide exceptional care during a recruitment gap. This facility features a well-structured emergency department, with a robust annual patient volume of around 40,000. The facility is equipped with a total of 42 beds and offers a supportive staff environment, including full nursing support and 12 hours of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage daily.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise other healthcare providers, including APPs and residents.
- Perform essential procedures such as suturing, incisions and drainage, and EKG interpretations.
- Manage acute medical issues and follow established protocols to stabilize patients.
- Collaborate with hospitalists for patient admissions and write admission orders.
- Utilize Cerner as the current Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Participate in daily operational communication and support within the emergency department.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Preferred prior Emergency Department experience.
- Michigan medical license (specific to this role; no IMLC accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Local candidates preferred for swift credentialing.
- Clean background history for rapid onboarding.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Valid Michigan state medical license.
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Current BLS certification.
