Salary: $95K - $100K and eligible to earn an annual bonus
2nd shift - 2pm to midnight
This role offers the opportunity to pursue your passion for maintenance while expanding into office responsibilities. You will gain insights into budget management and the P&L aspects of the business. While you will continue to work closely with the team and assist mechanics directly, approximately 75% of your time will be dedicated to office-related tasks.
Position Responsibilities:

- Builds a strong team environment between maintenance personnel and operations department.
- Lead, train, and mentor Preventative Maintenance Technicians
- Ensure location is in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians.
- Responsible for the management of inventory and maintenance of equipment.
- Trains and assists Technicians on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
- Prioritizes maintenance based on operational needs and Technician skills.
- Tests vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or tests repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.
- Communicate regularly with the fellow supervisor and District Maintenance Manager.
- Assists Maintenance Manager in monthly financial projections and budget.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
- Must have working knowledge of OSHA and DOT compliance requirements.
- Must have ability to motivate staff and build a team friendly environment.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills and ability to achieve cost effective solutions.
Requirements:
- 5+ years mechanic experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. (Waste industry experience preferred)
- Ability to train and motivate staff a must.
- Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Trade or Technical School Certificate preferred. High School or Equivalent required.
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
