The Maintenance Technician Lead provides hands-on technical support and day-to-day leadership to maintenance technicians. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment by coordinating maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist technicians with troubleshooting, repair, and preventative/corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Assign and prioritize daily work orders; coordinate activities with Production and Scheduling to minimize downtime.
- Perform hands-on equipment diagnostics, repairs, and installations.
- Promote and enforce safety programs including LOTO, Hot Work, and plant safety rules.
- Train team members on equipment, safety, and maintenance procedures.
- Support spare parts inventory, documentation, and CMMS updates.
- Communicate equipment status to supervisors and act as lead when the Maintenance Manager is unavailable.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a maintenance lead/supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical/electrical skills.
- Experience with CMMS and maintenance documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
