Key Job Details – PCU RN Travel Assignment

• Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: February 16, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910–$1960
• Unit: 8 Mountain PCU (20-bed telemetry unit)
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Orientation: 32 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• At least 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, or telemetry RN experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Proficiency in telemetry, cardiac drips (no titration), and clinical support skills
• Competency in central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response/code team participation, and non-invasive airway management
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other PCU or Medical Surgical units as needed

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with pulmonary and general medicine diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and care for tracheostomy and ventilated patients (non-ICU level)
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EHR
• Maintain a safe environment and follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Participate in rapid response and code situations
• Float to other Progressive Care or Medical Surgical units as required
