Maryland Nursing Job Details- Location: Bel Air, Maryland 21014
- Healthcare Setting: Ortho Acute Unit (Med/Surg Telemetry)
- Contract Length: 13-week travel RN contract
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
- Unit Size: 26 beds (20 rooms)
- Patient Population: Adult orthopedic, spine, and medical/surgical patients
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (orthopedic and spine experience highly preferred)
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
- BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
- First-time travel nurses accepted with strong Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Ability to float within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- References: 2 satisfactory professional references from recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN acceptable)
- Local candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries (joint replacements, fracture repairs), spine procedures (ACDF, fusions, decompressions), and other medical/surgical conditions
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and administer medications including heparin and PCA
- Operate specialized equipment: PCA pumps, Bucks traction, overbed trapeze, SCD sleeves/pumps, foot pumps, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, and walkers
- Perform central and peripheral line care, blood draws, and oxygen administration
- Implement isolation precautions and adhere to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
- Float to other nursing units within scope as needed
- Document patient care accurately and promptly
