CT Technologist role in Radiology; full-time with on-call per union contract; location: New York State hospital; ongoing/permanent position (per collective bargaining priority). - NYS DOH license and ARRT (Radiographer) - ARRT (CT) credential required within 2 years (6-month extension if initial attempts fail) - NYS certification to inject IV contrast within 2 months of orientation - BLS certification (or within 3 months) - Prefer ≥1 year radiographer experience

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs CT procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers in an ethical and professional manner according to hospital and departmental policy and according to any applicable New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operations

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health and be registered by ARRT (Radiographer).
2. Must obtain ARRT (CT) credentials within two years Eligibility requirements will be reviewed by employee and manager/supervisor.
3. In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered / credentialed.
4. Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two (2) months of completing the orientation period.
5. Will be responsible for on-call in CT per union contract.
6. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
7. Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
8. Requires an ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
9. Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
10. One year of Radiographer experience preferred.
