Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology outpatient position working 10-hour day shifts with a traveler-friendly team.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient clinic setting in a Medical Oncology department
- Patient population includes medical oncology and chemotherapy infusion cases
- Care team consists of RN, LPN, Clinical Assistant (CA), charge nurse, resource nurse, physician, and ARNP
- Caseload of approximately 15–25 patients per day with CA support
- 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
- Utilizes Epic EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing system
- No floating required
- Main duties include chart checks, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and weight, completing review of systems and medication reconciliation
- Must be comfortable being cross-trained in supportive areas such as assisting physicians and managing referrals
- Scrub color is navy blue for nursing staff
- Supportive and traveler-friendly team with opportunities for contract renewal
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- Free parking is available onsite
Requirements
- Active RN license from South Dakota or a compact state
- Current BLS certification required
- OCN preferred but not required
- Minimum of 1.5 years nursing experience required
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
