The selected candidate will provide high-quality anesthesiology services, delivering comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries and medical procedures while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.Key Responsibilities: Administer anaesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures and other medical interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement anaesthesia care plans. Implanting cardiac assist devices, such as pacemakers, left ventricular assist devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps? Implanting cardiac defibrillators Evaluate patients' medical histories, perform physical assessments, and determine appropriate anesthesia protocols. Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for patients, including managing complications and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed. Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with VA policies and healthcare standards. Participate in educational and training programs for medical staff and residents, as well as contribute to the ongoing improvement of anesthesia care practices. Respond to emergencies requiring anesthesia expertise and provide high-quality care under pressure. Follow guidelines for maintaining safety standards, infection control protocols, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Work Schedule and Call Coverage: Estimated Work Hours: 80 hours every two weeks, excluding Federal holidays. Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except for Federal Holidays30-minute non-paid lunch breakOn call Requirement: This position is subject to a rotating on-call schedule.Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). Board certified or eligible. cardiothoracic experience. Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the U.S. Proven experience in providing anesthesiology services in a hospital or clinical setting. Ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and collaborate with medical and surgical teams.
