Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Shelby, NC 28150 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Facility: 241-bed hospital, Level 3 Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center
• Unit: 4W Medical/Surgical (32 beds)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Med/Surg RN travel jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 09/02/2025 – End: 11/29/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:45pm start), 36 hours/week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570–$1680
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free on-site

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, and central line management
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Willingness to float within Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division facilities

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care to diverse populations including stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, and wound management
• Maintain safe patient ratios of 1:5
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
• Utilize advanced healthcare technology such as Epic EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and virtual nursing cameras
• Participate in patient admissions, discharges, and special monitoring with support from virtual RNs
• Float to regional facilities as needed, ensuring continuity of care
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered unit culture
