Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in Ocala, FL. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care, providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative management, assisting in surgical procedures, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the vascular surgery team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and medical history reviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging, ECGs).
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound care, drain management, and infection control.
- Assist in major surgical procedures and perform minor procedures independently.
- Serve as first assist in the operating room, including surgical closures and intraoperative support.
- Perform hospital rounds, discharge planning, and coordinate follow-up care.
- Participate in on-call coverage, including evenings and weekends.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery.
- Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
- Serve as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and contribute to staff development.
- Support workflow optimization and protocol development for improved efficiency and safety.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Master s Degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Studies required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or a related surgical specialty.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Florida ARNP or PA license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure.
