An Ultrasound Technologist operates specialized ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images for medical evaluation. This role requires collaboration with medical staff and adherence to supervisory instructions to ensure high-quality patient care. Candidates typically need completion of an accredited ultrasound program and must obtain professional certification within two years.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates ultrasound equipment in order to produce high quality diagnostic images for procedures. Performs assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from the immediate supervisor and/or radiologist in charge. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and University Health employees, patients, doctors and guests. Promotes the UH guest program.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent is preferred. One-year ultrasound experience is preferred. Must be eligible to acquire the ARDMS or Ultrasound Registry (ARRT-S) with registry acquisition within two years.
