Registered Nurse First Assist I (RNFA) provides preoperative patient care and serves as the surgeon's first assistant during cosmetic/plastic surgery procedures, assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating patient care. The role practices an expanded preoperative nursing scope with specialized training and supervised practice, interprets diagnostic studies, and provides patient education and counseling to promote positive health behaviors. Requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing, an active RN license (state or compact), BLS certification, and a full-time Monday–Friday schedule.
