A medical facility in Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens assignment starting March 1, 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician to provide quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Location: Near Everson, PASpecialty: Hematology & OncologyPosition Type: Locum TenensAssignment Duration: Ongoing, with the potential for long-term placementFacility Type: Hospital/Outpatient Clinic Job Highlights: Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with possible travel to an outlying office (approximately 30 minutes from the main campus). Call Schedule: On-call duties include beeper coverage with an average of 1:2 ratio. Call response time is 30 minutes. Providers will not be required to return in person for urgent matters after hours. Hospital Rounds: Rounds will be required daily on assigned weekdays and for 4 hours on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Staffing Support: The facility offers a robust support team including 6 Infusion RNs, 3 RN navigators, 2 RN oral chemo navigators, and 2 APPs for both inpatient and outpatient care. Patient Load: Expect to see approximately 12-15 patients per shift. Key Requirements: Board Certification or Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology. Active medical license in Pennsylvania or IMLC with a Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in hand. Completion of mandatory Pennsylvania state requirements: Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting (3 hours) Pain Management and Opioid Prescribing Practices (4 hours). Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology is preferred but not required. Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) as part of the care team. Additional Information: No Admissions Required: The provider will be part of a consulting service with no hospital admissions expected. Preferred Candidates: Those interested in a locum-to-perm opportunity are highly favored. EMR System: Epic. Credentialing: Expect a 14-day credentialing timeframe. Travel & Lodging: Travel arrangements and lodging will be coordinated by the hospital.
