Seeking an onsite Locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide coverage due to a recruitment gap. This role involves shift-based emergency department care with no call requirements. Physicians will work alongside APPs, nurses, techs, radiology, and lab support within a Cerner EHR environment.

Reason for Coverage: Recruitment gap
ED Volume: Approx. 80 patients/day; 1.8 patients/hour per physician
Support Staff: 12-hour APP coverage, full nursing and tech support, full radiology and lab services
EHR: Cerner
Travel/Lodging Policies:
No flights; travel must follow McLaren/AHSA policy
No reimbursement for medical staff fees
No 3rd-party lodging sites; McLaren is tax-exempt and does not reimburse lodging taxes

Adult & pediatric outpatient care
Newborn resuscitation
Orthopedic care for non-displaced fractures
Suturing, I&D
Uncomplicated psychiatric evaluations across age groups
Ventilation and airway management (up to 24 hrs without pulm consult)
Acute volume/BP management
Central and arterial lines
EKG interpretation
Arthrocentesis
Lumbar puncture
Paracentesis
Standard ED procedures
Board Certified (EM preferred; IM/FM accepted with 2+ yrs recent ED experience)
Active Michigan license at time of submission (no IMLC)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Local candidates only (no exceptions)
Clean background for expedited credentialing
Exact availability for listed shifts required
Flu vaccine ( season)
COVID documentation or declination
TB testing: 2-step within 12 months or QuantiFERON within 6 months, plus questionnaire
Hep B titer or declination
MMR and Varicella: vaccine series or titers
TDAP within last 10 years
