Join Our Team as a Locum Physician Pediatric Anesthesiology in Dayton, OH
Are you an experienced Pediatric Anesthesiologist seeking a flexible, rewarding locum opportunity? Dayton Children's Hospital is actively seeking dedicated physicians to provide essential anesthesiology coverage from August 10 to November 16, 2026. Play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within a prestigious Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting a dynamic team in a busy surgical environment. This contract offers a unique chance to contribute to pediatric and adult patient care while enjoying competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cover hospital-based operating rooms with a caseload of 50-60 surgeries daily
- Supervise CRNAs in a collaborative care team model
- Manage anesthesia for patients ranging from neonatal to adult
- Ensure high-quality care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting
- No call duties required during this assignment
Required Skills:
- Certified Physician in Anesthesiology with active medical licensure
- Proven experience in pediatric anesthesiology, preferably in a hospital setting
- Ability to supervise CRNAs effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Capable of managing diverse patient demographics, from neonates to adults
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience in Level 1 Trauma Center environments
- Familiarity with anesthesia carts and medication preparation
- Experience working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with specialization in anesthesiology
- Board certification in anesthesiology
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in pediatric anesthesia
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing documentation including DEA, CSR, CAQH login, and certifications required at time of acceptance
- Internal credentialing status to be confirmed
- Compliance with facility fingerprinting and credentialing procedures
- Ability to travel as needed; travel expenses reimbursed according to facility policies
