Attempts to provide a positive hospital experience in which patients are given opportunities for growth, learning, and mastering the environment through music therapy. Music therapy uses music to address physical, psychological, cognitive, social, and communicative functioning for patients of all ages and abilities. Music Therapists facilitate music interventions both instrumental and vocal, designed to address non-musical goals to promote changes such as: stress level, pain management, and mood. Music Therapists design and utilize individualized music experiences to assess, treat, evaluate, and document on patients. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details:
MINIMUM REQUIRED
Education: Bachelor's degree and internship in appropriate area required.
Experience: One year experience working in a health care setting.
Certification/Registration: Certification or registration through appropriate certification: RMT - Registration for Music Therapists
Must know CPR and be able to respond to emergency situations.
