Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical ICU position requiring BLS, ACLS, and stroke care expertise.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) within a hospital critical care setting
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 13-week contract
• Standard nurse to patient ratio is 2:1
• Unit supports a Level 1 trauma center, certified stroke center, burn center, ELSO center, and transplant center
• Use of the Sunrise charting system
• Work rotation includes every other weekend and holidays as required by unit needs
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Unit specializes in advanced care for medical ICU patients in a diverse high-acuity environment
• Part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary critical care team
• Work in a facility that is a leader in trauma, stroke, burn, and transplant care
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Local candidates are accepted but a radius rule applies for eligibility for the travel rate
• Royal blue scrubs are mandatory for all shifts
• Holiday coverage is required as per the unit's operational needs

Requirements

• Active RN license with current Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an ICU or critical care setting
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
