Papillion Sanitation, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a Truck Welder / Mechanic in Bellevue, Nebraska. This is a full-time, long-term position with a stable and growing organization. Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding repairs and fabrication on truck bodies, frames, and components.
- Diagnose structural issues and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) and cutting tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with routine maintenance and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Ensure all work meets company safety standards and DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and materials used.
- Collaborate with mechanics and fleet supervisors to prioritize repairs.
Working Conditions
- Requires strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 lbs.
- Exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts; safety precautions required.
- Work may be indoors in a shop or outdoors in the yard; sometimes involves awkward positions and handling greasy tools.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- 2+ years of welding/mechanical experience preferred.
