Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Springfield, TN 37172 (Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) – MS2 & MS3 units
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend required
• Unit Size: 27 beds per floor
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Modern Equipment: Computer on Wheels, Pyxis, Welch Allen vital sign machines
• Documentation: Medhost (transitioning to Meditech EMR)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530 - $1640 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience with post-operative and orthopedic patients is a plus
• Ability to float between MS2 and MS3 medical-surgical units
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dark blue uniform required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using EMR systems
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Perform and assist with clinical procedures including blood transfusions, IV and central line maintenance
• Collaborate with physicians, medical technicians, and unit secretaries to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process
• Float between MS2 and MS3 units as needed to provide clinical support
