The position is for a Locum General Medicine Physician to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans in Houston, Idaho. Duties include performing primarily interview-based evaluations, physical assessments, and submitting detailed medical reports without prescribing treatment. Flexible work options are provided with a focus on respiratory and cardiovascular condition assessments, requiring a medical license and relevant experience.
Join our team in providing essential healthcare services to Veterans! We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This position offers flexible options, allowing you to work per diem at a local facility or in your own office, provided it is within a 50-mile radius of the required locations.
As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our nation's Veterans by conducting thorough evaluations and assessments.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based examinations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment involved.
- Utilize your expertise in assessing and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Complete exams and submit reports, including any required addendums, within designated timeframes.
- Participate in ongoing aftercare documentation as part of your day rate.
- Work flexibly, with options for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
- Active and unrestricted full medical license.
- Proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Previous experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine preferred.
- Possession of a laptop (non-Mac product).
- Willingness to complete DMA training for certification.
- Strong communication and assessment skills.
- Current license number and certification number (both required).
- AANP certification preferred.
- Must provide a home address and be open to traveling to other locations as needed.
