This position is for a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) providing advanced neonatal care in Level III NICUs across two hospital locations in Cumming and Canton, GA. Responsibilities include managing critically ill newborns using specialized procedures such as HFOV, iNO, and whole body cooling for HIE, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary medical team. Position Details:
• Patient Population: Newborns and neonates
• Setting: Level III NICUs at Northside Hospital Forsyth and Northside Hospital Cherokee
• Responsibilities: Provide neonatal care in both NICUs and Newborn Nurseries
• Required Procedures: Neonatal care including HFOV, iNO, whole body cooling for HIE
• EMR System: Not specified
• Support Staff: Team includes pediatricians, neonatologists, and other specialists
• Days Per Month: 7-8 shifts per month
• On-Call/Weekends: Yes, as per schedule
Job Description:
• Provide Level III neonatology services at Cumming, GA and Canton, GA
• NICU: Average census of 18-20, services include HFOV, iNO, whole body cooling for HIE
• NNP coverage includes 24-hour shifts, with 7-8 shifts per month
• NNPs work at both sites for scheduling flexibility
• Dedicated NICU pharmacy, nutritionists, PT/OT, and speech therapy at both sites
• Work closely with pediatric sub-specialists such as cardiology, neurology, and ophthalmology
Relocation: May be required, and must be local to the area
