Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a MO or compact license and advanced fetal monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital's Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 in a Level I Nursery setting with less than 100 births per month
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15, including 4-6 weekend shifts and 2 mandatory Friday shifts per 6 weeks
• 2 mandatory on-call shifts every 6-week schedule period
• Floating within the scope of LDRP and care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, triage, GYN surgical, and C-section cases is required
• Epic charting experience is required
• Scrub color is navy and is provided
• Responsibilities include full-spectrum LDRP care: triage, labor management, vaginal and operative deliveries, recovery, postpartum, and both maternal and newborn assessments
• Must provide couplet care, management of gynecological surgical cases, and assist with patient and parent education
• Weekend and holiday coverage is required, including at least 1 major and 1-2 minor holidays per contract
• Allotment of up to 7 days approved time off within the contract
• Free parking available on site
• No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
• Testing, modules, and drug screening required prior to start

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 3 years recent Labor & Delivery experience, with at least 2 years in specialty and 1 year within the past 12 months with no employment gap over 90 days
• Experience in community hospital LDRP settings preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, FHM, and NRP; Advanced and Intermediate AWHONN certification preferred
• Strong skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, L&D management, C-section circulation and recovery, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be able to perform high acuity neonatal and maternal care, including advanced monitoring and emergency response
• Must provide 2 recent professional references: one from a supervisor and one RN reference from the past year
• Not open to first-time travelers or local candidates; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending licenses not accepted
