American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Telemetry Float RN with at least 2 years of experience and current BCLS and ACLS certifications for a night shift, travel contract.
Responsibilities- Work in a short term acute care hospital on Medical/Surgical, Oncology, Neuro, Renal, and Cardiology units
- Float to all medical units as needed, with unit assignment communicated prior to each shift
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Every other weekend or minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule required, including holiday rotation
- Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for days and weekends, 1:6 for nights
- Uses EPIC charting system; EPIC experience required for certain units
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free parking provided
- Float pool nurses must call in up to 1 hour prior to shift for unit assignment
- Expected to provide care across a range of medical specialties including oncology and neurology
- Orientation modules are completed pre-start and are paid up to 16 hours
- No local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted
- Holiday rotation is required as part of the schedule
- All standard travelers may work up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required
- Active MO or compact RN license required for consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience in a similar setting
- Current BCLS and ACLS certifications required
- IV start and telemetry skills required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Experience with ceiling lifts and bladder scanners preferred, will provide training
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
