The Neonatology Physician provides clinical care in a Level III NICU, manages outpatient high-risk neonatal follow-ups, and contributes to medical education and quality improvement. This full-time academic position involves teaching medical students and pediatric residents at East Tennessee State University. The role supports over 800 annual NICU admissions with resources including air and ground transport and collaboration with perinatology specialists.

The Department of Pediatrics at East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join this division at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor and the rank will be commensurate with academic experience. This is a non-tenure track position. The position is a joint hire with Medical Education Assistance Corporation ( MEAC ).
Responsibilities of the Neonatologist include:
-Providing clinical care for a 39-bed level III NICU with in-house nurse practitioners
-Outpatient high-risk neonatal follow-up
-Teaching medical students and pediatric residents
-Quality improvement and academic pursuits
We have over 800 NICU admissions per year at Niswonger Children s Hospital, with air and ground transport systems available. An active perinatology division for maternal evaluation and management is also present through the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
