Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with a CA license and strong conscious sedation skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Interventional Radiology unit with primary focus on IR procedures
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Staffing ratio is 1:1
- Frequent procedures involve trauma and standard IR, but no Neuro IR cases
- Typical procedures per nurse range from 3 to 10 per day
- Work schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Call is required every other weekend from Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 8:00 AM
- Must be able to float to PACU/Recovery and occasionally to another nearby IR department
- One angiography suite is available
- Primary responsibilities include circulating and/or assisting with conscious sedation during IR procedures
- Nurses often work in pairs to split duties such as sedation and circulating
- Main cases involve trauma as well as a variety of standard IR procedures
- Opportunities for cross-training in PACU are available
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Interventional Radiology
- AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and TNCC certifications are required (TCAR preferred)
- Proficiency in conscious sedation
- Must live within 15 minutes of the facility for on-call response
- Able to float to PACU/Recovery and IR at a nearby facility
