This locum tenens position seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care near Adamsburg, Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for an inpatient psychiatry locum tenens opportunity in the state of Pennsylvania, near Adamsburg. This assignment offers a flexible schedule with a mix of inpatient clinical hours and on-call responsibilities. Position Overview: Location: Near Adamsburg, PA Specialty: Psychiatry Practice Setting: Inpatient Coverage Dates: January 3, 2025 January 25, 2025 Schedule: Monday Friday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Weekends: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM + 4:00 PM 8:00 AM call Call required 1-2 days per week; possible weekend call Average response time for call: 30 minutes Patient Load: 10-12 patients per shift Call Responsibilities: Consultations in the ED and med/surg units on weekends Inpatient rounding for psychiatric units 2-4 admissions on average when called in EMR System: Epic Support Staff: Midlevel providers will assist with new evaluations and summaries Requirements: Board Certification/Eligibility: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Licensing: Must be licensed in Pennsylvania Experience: Must have completed a Psychiatry residency; fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry preferred Familiarity with inpatient psychiatric care and involuntary commitments Experience in managing a range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, affective disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and more Skills: Experience with pharmacotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, and involuntary commitment is preferred Credentialing: 14-day credentialing timeframe Facility Details: Inpatient Unit: 29 beds Patient Types: Adults with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and other severe mental health issues No Hospital Stroke Certification Required No surgery center privileges needed Additional Information: Call Coverage: The psychiatrist will be required to cover call shifts, including weekdays and weekends. During on-call shifts, the provider will respond to psychiatric emergencies, perform consultations, and provide care for patients admitted to the psychiatric unit.
