Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Embracing the Select Medical Way and Core Values, the RN plays a vital role in ensuring patient and employee safety within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Direct and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, providing training and guidance.
• Promote a safe work environment and adhere to safety policies.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and work environment.
• Identify needs for supplies and equipment to effectively complete assigned duties.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed.
• Pursue professional growth and continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience
