American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Day Shift Observation Unit position requiring IL RN licensure, BLS, and Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience.
Responsibilities- Work on a day shift in the Observation Unit (T6) within a hospital setting
- Unit cares for patients requiring observation with medical needs
- Shift is three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00AM – 7:30PM
- Level 1 Trauma environment experience is required
- Epic EMR is used and recent experience is mandatory
- Staff RN is responsible for direct patient care using nursing process and best practices
- Must assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per policy
- Accurate and up-to-date documentation is required for all care provided
- Attendance at 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year is required
- Timely identification of changes in patient status and appropriate response are essential
- Orientation is provided
- No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
- Return Time Off (RTO) is limited to 7 days within each 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not work more than 1 year continuously and must take a 6-month break before returning
- Current Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year recent relevant nursing experience
- Documented experience in Level 1 Trauma setting
- Documented recent experience with Epic charting system
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
