MRI Technologist
Shift: • E/N • 4, 10’s • 40 hr wks • 2030-0600
Required: • BLS • Washington State Certification as radiologic technologist. • Must be a graduate of a course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). • ARRT registered in MRI. • At least 2 years of previous MRI experience required.
Essential Functions: • Prepares for and performs all MRI examinations while operating assigned equipment in a safe manner as instructed. • Develop, initiate, and monitor procedures for the effective utilization of the MRI scanner. • Performs IV access, using sterile technique and administer contrast media under physician supervision. • Maintains the cleanliness of the scanner and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures. • Follows good MRI safety and quality assurance procedures. • Utilizes PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and completes required paperwork for each examination performed. • Complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities. • Lifts patients as needed and when this can be accomplished safely and according to policy. • Transfers patients using safe ergonomic technique and utilizes the hydraulic lift or other safe patient handling devices and the patient's family members or caregivers when necessary.
