The position is for a Board Certified Interventional Radiology Physician to provide comprehensive interventional radiology services at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The role requires full-time onsite coverage, compliance with VA credentialing and care standards, and participation in mandatory training and on-call duties. The physician will coordinate with VA staff to ensure timely patient care while maintaining professional and regulatory requirements.
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Physician Minneapolis VA Location: Minneapolis, MN Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site (1.0 FTE) Overview: JR Enterprise is seeking a highly qualified Interventional Radiology Physician to provide exceptional care at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. This role requires Board Certification, current unrestricted medical licensure, and technical proficiency in interventional radiology procedures. The physician will be responsible for delivering care in accordance with VA standards, policies, and guidelines, including on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive Interventional Radiology services onsite at the Minneapolis VA. Maintain compliance with all VA credentialing and privileging requirements (VHA Directives 1100.20 & 1100.21). Ensure all services meet nationally recognized standards of care (ACR, TJC, AHA). Maintain up-to-date Board Certification and participate in required Continuing Medical Education (CME) / Certified Education Units (CEU). Complete all mandatory VA training, including ACLS, BLS, MRI Safety, Core Values (ICARE), HIPAA/Privacy, Infection Control, Patient Safety, Suicide Prevention, and other VA-mandated courses. Provide on-call coverage as required, responding within 15 minutes by phone and 60 minutes onsite when needed. Coordinate with VA staff to ensure timely patient care and adherence to clinic hours. Provide coverage during staff absences, including sick leave, vacation, or unplanned events, with replacement coverage arranged within 2 hours. Qualifications: Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or D.C. Physicians with any past license restrictions, suspensions, or revocations are not eligible. Board Certification: American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification required. Continuing education must be current. Experience & Skills: Demonstrated technical proficiency in interventional radiology. Fluent in English (speak, read, write). Knowledgeable in VA EHR systems and protocols. Credentialing & Privileging: Must meet all VA credentialing requirements prior to service delivery. Hours of Operation: MondayFriday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (on-site) On-call: Evenings, weekends, holidays (W.H.E.N. schedule) Federal holidays observed per VA policy. Key Requirements: Minimum 1.0 FTE onsite coverage daily. Ability to provide immediate coverage for scheduled physician absences. Adherence to professional conduct standards; replacement required if conduct is deemed unacceptable by VA. Documentation and verification of CME, certifications, and training to be submitted to the VA COR annually.
