Key Responsibilities:

• Call Coverage:
  • Provide call coverage from 7 AM on 09/20/2024 to 7 AM on 09/23/2024.
  • Must be available via phone and able to respond within a 30-mile radius. In-house call is available but not required.
• Patient Care:
  • Support the OB/GYN and Emergency Department as the facility does not have a dedicated Pediatric unit.
  • Handle any pediatric cases that arise during your call period, ensuring timely and appropriate care.
• Certifications Required:
  • Must be certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Additional certifications required include ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Practice Setting:
  • This is an inpatient position focused on providing essential pediatric care in a hospital setting.
  • Utilize the MEDHOST EMR system for all patient records and communications.

  • While on call, you will be the primary pediatric resource, collaborating with OB/GYN and Emergency Department teams as needed.
  • Must be comfortable with the independent management of pediatric emergencies, especially in an environment without a dedicated pediatric unit.
• EMR System:
  • Experience with MEDHOST EMR is preferred, though not required if you are quick to adapt.
• Licensing and Credentialing:
  • Must be licensed to practice in Texas. No other state licenses will be accepted.
  • Temporary privileges are available, and credentialing will be expedited to ensure a quick start.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Board Certification:
  • Must be board-certified in Pediatrics. Fellowship training is preferred but not required.
• Experience:
  • Prior experience in a call-only setting is advantageous.
  • Must be adept at handling pediatric cases independently, especially in an environment where pediatric resources may be limited.
• Technical Skills:
  • Competence with the MEDHOST EMR system is a plus.
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to pediatric emergencies.
