We are seeking a General Medicine Physician for a locum tenens role near Gallion, AL. This position involves conducting Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments to support our nations veterans. The exams are primarily interview-based, with minimal physical assessment requirements, making it an efficient role for experienced providers across various specialties.

Position Overview:

• Position Type: Locum Tenens, PRN basis

Responsibilities:

• Compensation & Pension (C&P) Exams:
  • Conduct one-time, non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments for veterans.
  • Exams are interview-based, with some physical assessments (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, etc.).
  • No treatment or prescription required.
• Coverage Options:
  • Travel and perform exams at designated facilities.
  • Option to schedule veterans within your own practice.
  • Work part-time (4-hour shifts) or full-time (8-hour shifts), depending on your availability.

Qualifications:

• Specialty Requirements:
  • We are accepting physicians from the following specialties:
    • Family Medicine
    • Internal Medicine
    • Orthopedic Surgery
    • Physicians with a general medicine background or experience in compensation and pension exams.
• Familiarity with:
  • Musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Proficient in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
• System Requirements:
  • Must use a goniometer for physical assessments.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools related to veterans' health assessments.
• Certification Requirements:
  • Board Certified in your specialty.
  • Active and unrestricted Alabama medical license.
  • Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available, certification required after privileging).
